Summary/Objective
Design and develop processes, tooling and machines to support the manufacture of component and cable assemblies in all manufacturing WCs.
Essential Functions/ Responsibilities. 
  • Using CAD software (Solidworks), design all mechanical elements of tooling and equipment used to produce low to potentially high-volume Connector assemblies for Assembly processes that the company uses Globally. 
  • Interface with Product Design engineers to understand key features and agree on assembly sequences. 
  • Interface with manufacturing personnel to understand current and future manufacturing capability. 
  • Actively participate in product and tooling design review meetings. 
  • Prioritize and respond to tooling-related quality problems. 
  • Ensure that Product Quality and Process Reliability are designed into each project from the start. 
  • Ensure that all tooling changes/modifications are properly requested, executed, implemented, and documented. 
  • Performs initial trials and debugs tooling. 
  • Coordinate’s production trials with manufacturing personnel. 
  • Provides cost estimates for tooling and assembly. Reviews and updates estimate throughout project lifecycles. 
  • Ensures the project delivered is compliant with all relevant OSHA and local standards in respect to the design and engineering work practices. 
  • Conduct or participate in regular project/schedule meetings. 
  • Record, address and resolves issues that impact project timing and/or scope. 
  • Develop contingency plans or recovery plans as required.

Required Experience
  • Minimum 2~5 years’ experience in a related / similar position. 
  • Proficient in SolidWorks application including modelling, simulation and PDM. 
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret part/tooling drawings, GD&T and technical instructions is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of tooling fabrication processes including material selection and tolerance. 
  • Meticulous, strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Ability to read and write with some verbal skills in English.  
  • Ability to work in a demanding environment providing accurate and timely output to a high standard. 
  
Preferred Education  
Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering or Engineering Tech
Training required
  1. PDM
  2. EPMS, ECN, PrintVu, SGN, etc
